Value for money no nonsense clean rooms and friendly staff it's decorated from Salvaged Ships it's really quite Quirky if your like me and like old stuff this is an amazing place it's old but clean and nice its all adds to the caricature I was really surprised when i walked in theres nothing on the outside which suggests you'll be sleeping in a ships cabin If you visiting the beamish museum this is a cheap place to stay and adds to the fantastic day at the beamish museum

Robert

Great staff, very friendly, kind and helpful. Cosy, comfortable, clean room serviced daily and with everything I needed. Private bathroom and tea / coffee making facilities.Nautical themed throughout building. Excellent location for travelling to the Metrocentre, Eldon Square, Gateshead and Newcastle and the surrounding area by bus or car.

Brenda

It was much better than I expected or other negative reviews. Clean, warm, comfortable -great location with bus stop just round the corner- just download the NE bus app and go. Nice staff, twinned with The Royal Hotel round the corner- if it’s shut go there. Didn’t get to try the breakfast as i Ieft too early each day. Would stay again .

Steve

Booked into the Rowers but was sent to the sister hotel across the road, the Royal. Location is fantastic, only a 10min walk to the Metro shopping centre and just a 5min drive to the city centre. Staff were so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Has a bar and pool tables as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Siobhan

The cleaning staff and manager were lovely people. The hotel itself is not around anything but has excellent links; there were bus connections to the city centre, and the metrocentre was close enough that we could just walk. The hotel has a cute ship theme, the place is like an affordable hidden gem.
